Barenholtz Productions, Inc.
Formed by longtime producer, distributor, and exhibitor Ben Barenholtz in
1986, BARENHOLTZ Productions, Inc. draws upon Barenholtz’s strong and extensive
network of talented artists and filmmakers to develop and produce original,
quality driven films.
Current projects include the following:
• MUSIC INN, a feature documentary about the legendary Lenox, MA jazz and folk
venue of the 50s, home of the first school of jazz in the United States. Now in

• THE NIGHT FISHERMAN is a futuristic saga about one being who holds the key to
saving the world from total control through language globalization. Gabriel
Byrne, Adrian Grenier and Angela Lindvall are attached to star. Fiona Apple and
Arthur H. are providing the score and songs for the film. Filming September

• DRIVE AWAY DYKES, written by Ethan Coen & Tricia Cooke to be directed by
Allison Anders. Selma Blair and Holly Hunter are attached. Casting is proceeding
for an expected Fall 2006 shoot.
• ASTRO CITY, Kurt Busiek’s acclaimed multiple award-winning comic book in
preparation for a TV series. A co-production with Jonathan Alpers and Kurt
Busiek.
• BROOKLYN GOURMET SOCIETY, a comedy serving up a concoction of exotic foods and
the secret to better sex. Set in 1957 Brooklyn. Michael Badalucco is attached as
Chef Mangiacavallo. A Mitra Films production, now casting.
• TEREZIN, a tale about the children of the concentration camp and the
performance of the opera Brundibar. Co-produced with Serge Patzak and Paul
Webster. Allison Rose is writing.
• Jerzy Kosinski’s THE PAINTED BIRD. A co-production with Peter Grunwald .
